Please don’t freak out. I promise you that this is nothing more than blogging for beginners post. Literally.

Dear friends, you are not alone. There are a lot of bloggers out there who feel the same way once they decided to do blogging.

As a new blogger what the heck that you need to have on your first blog post?

Is it have a bunch of pages first? That no one is actually paying attention to?

Or get a premium blog theme so that you can have a very nice looking and so-called responsive blog theme?

These are all the mistakes a new blogger did when they first started.

They keep on thinking about the unimportant thing that is actually not going to help them move the needle. That suck though!

How did I know it?

That was me back then. LOL!

Frankly speaking, I’m kind of like a creative person who can’t just ignore the look of my blog.

I thought back then to become a great blogger we do not just need to have a great blog post but also a nice looking blog as well (well, I’m not making stuff up but instead I read that from somewhere though)

Some of the reasons make sense, but I think most of them are useless because what you should focus more on is your blog post.

As a beginner in blogging, you don’t have to make things so complicated. Overthinking is just going to cripple you.

The most important is your blog content. Because that is what people are looking for when they decide to spend a few minutes from their life on your blog.

Do the basic thing first before you want to think about the other things.

What Blogging Really Mean?

Before we go any further let’s define what is actually the meaning of blogging?

Well, I don’t want to paste the whole meaning of blogging from Wikipedia here. You can do it on your own if you really want to.

I am also not interested to explain it in a very educated way what is blogging is all about.

But instead, I want you to understand that blog is nothing more than a platform where you could add value to other people’s life.

You can educate people with your writing. You can teach people about something that you know about or you have experience with.

A blog is also a place where people can improve their life, save their marriage or settle their debt.

It is a very powerful platform where people can get a lot of benefits from.

If you do it right blogging is also can be a place where you can start your business empire.

That is blogging.

If you learn the right way how to blog, you will definitely find that blogging is a very fantastic career you want to get into.

Write For Your Industry

Often time bloggers get stuck in writing their blog posts because of the lack of ideas.

The most mistakes many bloggers did were, they pick a topic that is too narrow that eventually makes them stuck.

When you pick a too narrow topic you don’t have many ideas to write about.

For instance, if you are a travel blogger, you might want to choose the travel or holiday as the industry that you want to write about.

Not writing about nice places to go.

When you write about your industry which is travel, you can cover a lot of related topics underneath the industry. You can write about many sub-topics about travel.

Here are some of them:

  • Nice places to visit
  • Nice restaurant
  • Travel tips for a short vacation
  • Tips and tricks to travel
  • And the list goes on.

But if you decide to only focus on the nice places to go, I’m pretty sure you are going to running out of ideas very soon.

That is what you really need to avoid when you want to choose what niche you want to write about in your blog.

Pick your industry and write about it.

Write For Your Audience

Regardless of what level you are at right now when you decide to blog, you have to stop thinking about your self.

Blogging is about people you want to serve. About your audience that you want to add value to. It is not about you.

Although you are going to write about your self, (I know a lot of blogger said that you have to tell your story) the content has to focus on your audience.

Add value in your story that your audience can learn from. So although your post is talking about your self your audience can get some takes away from your content.

But before that, you need to know who is your audience?

This is very crucial as you are going to create content for them. You have to know what is their struggle.

What is the thing that they keep on thinking throughout their life? What is the thing that resonates with them the most?

If you can provide everything they need in your blog, chances are they will become your loyal reader.

Loyal reader = money

Your audience looking for a solution. They want to know what you have for them. That is why they want to read your blog.

They don’t care who you are and what is your prior achievement. What matter the most is what do you have for them?

So it is your duty to make sure they can have what they’re looking for and in return, they will trust you as someone who can help them achieve their goal or get rid of something.

I hope it makes sense to you.

The more you know about them the more you can become a great blogger.

Write About Your Life Experience

The easiest way how to write your first blog post is to write about your life experience.

This is the first thing I learned from my friend about blogging. At that time I have no idea what blogging is all about.

But she showed me her blog and I started to learn from that onward.

No one is going to read your life experience? I doubted it sorry.

People connect with the story. That is why the novel sells like a hot cake. Because people love reading a story.

The thing that you need to learn is how to tell your life experience in a compelling way to make your story interesting and joyful to read.

Is that too difficult to tell a story to a friend? You don’t even have to read anything to tell your friend a story.

That is why I highly recommend you to start with your life experience story for your first blog post.

You can talk about your studies if you are a college student. How difficult the subject that you are currently studying.

You can share a story about your work. Your officemate (they will be always a story among your officemate)

Or you can also share your progress on doing something. Give your audience a live update about anything that you are working on.

Share Your Knowledge

What are you good at? Everyone is knowledgable on something. Some people might really good at painting, cooking, fishing or anything.

Transform that knowledge into a blog post. You have no idea what is waiting for you in the next day.

There are a lot of people looking for your skills or information. The thing is you don’t know about it.

Try to write about it and share it with people. You will surprise how people will respond to what you know.

But how if you don’t have anything to say? Or you no nothing? Is it possible?

I know some of you may think about it and nod to this statement, aren’t you?

The reason why you have that kind of thought is that you are actually not confident with the knowledge that you have.

Why?

Because you think your knowledge is too basic. Everyone knows about the thing that you want to share or you thought no one is interested to read about it.

You doubt if you share it you will get embarrassed. People will laugh and make fun of you because your content is too basic, got no value, and nothing to impress.

The truth is there is no such thing as basic or advance knowledge.

You are not born yesterday and go to school the next day. Get your degree a week after you were born.

Everyone learns from zero. We will get better gradually by learning from step 1 onward. Step-by-step.

Learning how to get a WordPress installed on your blog may sound easy to you but not to others. So how to install your WordPress is not a cheap scale knowledge to them.

How to write a compelling blog post may not be something that you need to scratch your head, but it might be the knowledge that someone really looking forward to.

In a nutshell, everyone looking for content that suits their level of understanding and knowledge.

There’s no use to tell a 6 years old kid the easiest and effective ways on how to make money online without put in any dime upfront.

Because he just doesn’t care about it. His level just not yet reaching what you want to share with him. He may be interested in the future but it just not yet happen.

That is why to start writing your first blog post simply share the knowledge that you have.

Don’t let your insecurity prevent you to share what you know.

Helping People

What would you feel when someone sincerely said thank you and really appreciates what you have taught them?

That person tells you that you just saved him from the financial crisis that he had for the past few years.

He applied one of your marketing strategies and end up with he was able to pay all his debt within a year after learning from you.

Does that feeling worth $1000 bucks? $10,000 bucks? I genuinely believe it is way more than that.

In fact, you can’t even put a value on it.

Because it makes you exceptionally satisfied when you know the thing that you shared with them works and helps them solve their problem.

So that is how you are going to write your first blog post. Helping people with anything you know.

You might be curious how you are going to start your blog post if you want to help someone on any issue? How you are going to start writing?

Imagine what you are going to say when your close friend asks for your help?

Just pretend now you are trying to help your friend to figure something out. What do you want to say in the very first place?

What type of question that you will ask him? How about the solution? Any advice or motivation for him?

All those things that you are going to say to help your close friend is the thing that you are going to write for your first blog post.

It shouldn’t be so complicated. Just write how you speak. Don’t even bother about your grammar or functional. That’s not so important at the moment.

Just “help” your friend which is in trouble. Help him as best as you could.

That is one of the ways on how to write your first blog post.

Conclusion

Find your purpose why you want to blog in the first place. Your purpose needs to be something that could bring value to your audience.

Don’t overthink how you are going to write. Just use one of the tips that I mentioned earlier in this post and just start writing.

I hope this blogging for beginners post give you some value and knowledge to start writing your first blog post. Best of luck!
