What if I told you starting tomorrow you don’t have to wake up early in the morning to go to work?
It is not because tomorrow is Sunday but because you will start making money from anywhere you want at any time you want with blogging.
How cool is that?
While I’m pretty sure that sounds too odd to most people on the planet but that is what blogging can give you in life.
When we talk about blogging we are not talking merely about blogging. No one really wants to blog. Because blogging on its own is nothing.
You need to have a reason why do you want to blog. Because of what? It should be a reason.
Most of the time when we talk about blogging we are actually talking about a life of FREEDOM.
FREEDOM. That’s it.
You and I want to blog because we want to have a life on our own terms.
You don’t want people to control your life. Tell you what to do. Tell you where to go. Decide a certain amount of income for you every month.
Why would others dictate your life?
That’s literally what blogging is all about (at least for me). That’s why so many people are interested in blogging.
Because it’s the key to have a better life.
So in this article, you will discover why blogging can change your entire life.
1. Do What You Love and Making Money
Are you working because you love your job or because you MUST work for a living?
Most people hate their job. I included.
I was working as a draughtsman at a mid-size architect firm. Initially, that was the job that I’m looking for.
I want to work in the air conditioning office and work as a draughtsman because I love architecture and anything related to design so much.
But over time I realized that working for other people isn’t something really exciting to do for the rest of my life. Here’s why:
- I need to follow my boss instruction
- I can’t expect to get an increment next month even if I’m the most hard-working in the company.
- I need to get the job done even if I don’t feel like want to work on that day.
- My boss is going to determine how much he should pay me.
- I need to show up at 9 am and go back at 5 pm (sometimes at late night)
Obviously, those are not the things that I’m happy to do every day. That’s why I chose to blog. Blogging allows me to do what I love and make money at the same time.
What do you love to do?
Maybe you love cooking, gardening, woodworking, yoga, or anything. You can pretty much blog about everything you love.
There’s no limit on blogging. As long as you have something to share with your audience you can run a blog and make money.
The tip to success in blogging is if you just started don’t blog about your personal life.
Obviously, no one is interested to know about our personal life except if you are Kim Kardashian or Justin Bieber or at least an Instafamous.
You need to remember you are blogging to have a life of freedom.
In order to be free, you need money. If no one reading your blog, obviously you are not able to make any dime.
2. Work from Anywhere in The World
As long as the place you want to work at has an internet connection you can work from there. It could be anywhere in the world.
Well, some people may have this kind of experience while working for a company but that’s not what I’m talking about.
For me personally working for others that allow you to travel is still working.
We are talking about travel around the world do what you love to do and live as a digital nomad. You may or may not have heard about these terms prior.
Being a digital nomad is simply working in the digital space such as blogger/ affiliate marketer/ selling digital course/ online freelancer and live wherever you want for how long you want.
The main reason is that you are able and have the ability to do that. Because being a blogger doesn’t need:
- A boss
- An employee
- A physical office
- Meeting client
- Ship out the product
3. Spend More Quality Time with Your Loves One
I would say the main goal in life is you want to make your loves one happy. It could be your parents, your family, your girlfriends whoever.
This is the ultimate goal for most of us and that’s why we try to find something that could help us get more money while still be able to spend more time with them.
Blogging allows you to work from the comfort of your home. Because you have a very flexible time.
4. Design Your Day and Life
When we talk about freedom we are talking about the ability to design our day and life.
How wonderful it is if you are able to:
- Wake up at any time you want
- Sleep at any time you want.
- Go on vacation how long you want on any day you want without having to apply for leave.
- Play with your children any time.
- Shop when the malls are empty (in terms of the people)
- Walking to the beach and enjoy the sunset without worry to go to the office the next day.
When you are working for someone or a company you are not able to design your day according to what you want.
You can’t have a freedom schedule where you can create your own time to do things that you love.
pretty much everything within your day you have to follow the company you are working with.
5. Be Your Own Boss
Now the sky is the limit. You are the one who determines how much money you want to make.
Of course, it comes with a huge responsibility. But if you are serious about blogging that isn’t an issue.
I would say it’s very satisfying when you are able to generate your own paycheck worth the effort.
Why would someone need to dictate how much is your income’s limit while you can decide your self isn’t it?
That’s doesn’t make sense at all.
Now you don’t have to follow people’s instructions anymore. You can do and decide whatever you want.
I do believe we have our own advantage in terms of making a decision and success with our own business.
However, be careful because now the decisions are all in your hand. You need to be careful with it especially when it comes to managing your time.
Blogging may be time-consuming if you do not manage your time properly.
Although you have full control over your blogging business, you need to be very disciplined and focus.
6. Add value to other people’s live
Actually blogging is a glorious job. You blog because you want to help your audience to solve problems.
To share your thought about some product or service that your audience may be interested in.
Share your expertise and experience with them so that they can learn from you.
To provide value to their lives in terms of so many things that happen in your life.
“Thank you so much your article has changed my life!”
Imagine one day someone sends you an email and tells you that the content in your blog has helped them to achieve their goal.
How cool is that?
While you may have your own reason for blogging but the true purpose of blogging is to SERVE your audience.
“Wait are we talking about making money blogging or merely serving people for free here?”
Don’t worry. Actually, the reason why you need to have a “serving people’s mindset” is because you want to make money.
Here is the beauty of blogging. People nowadays are not buying stuff through ads that merely look like ads anymore.
They will leave your website or ads immediately after they realize that you are trying to sell them something.
That’s why blogging is the sexy and the best way to sell something without being salesy or manipulative.
With blogging, you can educate them on the topic that they want to discover.
Once they found your blog is very informative and helpful they will be more likely to buy anything that you recommend to them.
This is fundamental in selling. People need to know, like, and trust you first before they buy.
You can make them trust you with blogging.
7. Become a Thought Leader in Your Niche
Blogging also allows you to become someone that people trust. You can become a thought leader in your niche when you constantly blog.
You might have someone that you admire within your niche. Maybe you like to consume his content on Youtube, TikTok, blog, etc.
Subconsciously this person has become your thought leader already. Because you trust him and of course he has provided a lot of value to you.
When I talk about thought leaders you are not necessarily to become the thought leader in your industry. That may sound scary to you.
But instead, you could simply become the thought leader to your audience first. So that they will trust you and reading all of the blog posts.
What is the benefit?
You can influence your audience to do whatever you want them to do for your business. It could be:
- Subscribe to your Youtube channel
- Subscribe to your newsletter
- Sell your digital course
- Join your webinar
- Sell your book
- And many more
They may also recommend you to their friends and family because they trust you as their thought leader.
The tip to become a thought leader is you need to provide high-quality content to your target audience.
When I talk about high quality in terms of blogging, it’s not necessarily you need to write a long-form blog spot. High quality could be divided into:
- Step by step tutorial
- A case study
- Your experience
This type of content is very valuable to your audience although they are very short and simple.
8. You Can Sell Anything From Your Blog
That brings us to reason number 8 which is you could probably sell anything with your blog.
Here’s the thing. When you blogging you are also doing content marketing. The keyword here is CONTENT.
When you have great content for your audience and consistent you will get the three important elements in selling which are:
When you have these three elements you can sell anything you want.
Just take a look at all the celebrities. Would you agree with me if I say they could literally sell anything they want because they are celebrities?
They can recommend any product and a few hours later that product is going to sell out. Is it because they are celebrities?
No. It is not.
It is because they are well known. People pay close attention to whatever they said. The same goes for blogging. But instead of becoming a celebrity, you are a blogger.
Instead of acting or singing, you are writing. The only difference here is the form of content.
Celebrities produce their content by acting & singing but as a blogger you will produce your content with writing.
You can sell the kitchen cabinet if you blog about furniture. You can sell recipe books if you blog about cooking.
You can sell the fiberglass swimming pool if you blog about the pool.
River Pool & Spas is an installer fiberglass pool company. During the great recession, no one was interested to install the fiberglass pool but instead, the customers were asking for the deposits back which in some cases was around $50,000.
Mark Sheridan the CEO of the company believes the only way to keep their head above water is to think differently from their competitors.
What he did was he blogs about the fiberglass pool!
He blogs about what is the pros and cons of having a fiberglass pool. How much are the costs and all sort of information that his audience is seeking for.
It turns out to decreased their marketing budget from $250,000 to only $40,000. They also get more clients and stole 50% to 70% of their competitor’s clients.
Not only that River Pool & Spas also increased their sales by more than $5 million.
That’s the power of blogging. You could literally sell anything you want with a blog.
As long as you could provide content through blogging you are good to go.
9. Cost Less Than Other Business
You don’t have to apply for a loan if you want to start a blog. You can literally start with a free blog if you want. It cost you nothing.
But there are some limitations with a free blog. In a nutshell, I would say that you don’t have full control of your blog not to mention it doesn’t look professional as well.
You can’t have a custom domain name for your blog but instead, you need to attach the company name within your domain. It’s going to be like:
- www.yourdomain.blogspot.com (free blog)
Although it’s a paid version blog you can still start today if you want because as I mentioned the cost to start a blog doesn’t cost you a fortune.
10. Learn a lot of New Things
Blogger is also a reader. In order to write high-quality content, you need to read and do a lot of research.
This is crucial to educate your audience, helping them, and ensure they will read all of the blog posts.
It turns out that you will become a knowledgeable blogger in your niche.
You need to remember people will only engage with someone the thing could help them.
By becoming a knowledgeable person you will be a person they will refer to when they want to solve something.
Obviously, you are going to be able to make more money when you know a lot of things.
